Year Of The Goat,

19th February 2015 – 7th February 2016

2015 is the Year of the Goat according to the Chinese zodiac…

Being based in Hong Kong, I’m perfectly primed to investigate all the trends from the Orient, where the Chinese Zodiac is heavily referenced in fashion. Often on the streets of the city I’ll see people wearing horse motif t-shirts and jackets, or trousers, honouring the current year (we’re in the Year of the Horse), and I can’t wait to see the change in style…

I expect shed loads of sheep skin, goats milk beauty products in shops and pharmacies and our four legged animal friends referenced heavily in fashion. Remember that the Chinese calendar works with the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival of China, so these trends will come into effect from February 19th.

Lets look ahead so you won’t be stuck for sheep inspired products – Star Sign Style has your Year of the Goat, covered.

Red is highly symbolic in Chinese culture, it’s the luckiest of colours and often used during festivals – including New Year!

Here in Hong Kong they’re decking the halls with lanterns, fu (beautiful paper cuttings) and traditional decorative knots… Many of the shops have giant sheep in their windows too.
