How can we use therapeutic oils during the season of Pisces – late February to late March – and what are the best essential aromatherapy oils for Pisces themselves?

Let’s look to the stars for answers! As a complementary therapy, we can work with aromatherapy, with recommended blends for different seasons.

During Pisces Season, we might like to consider the essential oils that have a balancing, healing effect on Pisces: Juniper, Black Pepper and Elemi.


The lymphatic system is ruled by Pisces, and being a water sign makes them extra prone to water retention.

The empathic fish are extremely porous; absorbing vibes from others and being susceptible to germs and viruses when their immunity is down. Cleansing Juniper essential makes an ideal choice of oils for Pisces. It has detoxing qualities well as being a psychic protectorand has been used for many moons as a ‘smudge’ to clear negative energy and create a peaceful atmosphere.

  • Add a few drops of Juniper to your base massage blend, and massage your body after dry skin brushing.
  • Make a cleansing spray with water and some drops of Juniper to lighten the space when there is a heavy atmosphere.

Black Pepper…

For times when Pisces feels all at sea and lacking in clarity and motivation, base note, Mars-ruled Black pepper comes to the rescue with its warming, grounding aroma.  Black pepper is a great base chakra stimulator and can help with concentration and motivation.

  • For a revitalizing start to the day, add a few drops to your massage base oil and apply to those sensitive Piscean feet. 


The personality of Elemi resonates with Pisces character.

Elemi is a very spiritual aroma. Its name translated from Arabic means ‘As Above, so Below’. Elemi has a unifying quality, helping to unite the crown and base chakras, and is a helpful meditational aid, especially for creative visualization.

  • Add to an oil diffuser when meditating and add a few drops to perfumes and lotions to balance and enhance your mood.

Instructions and Safety!

There are many ways to absorb essential oils. You can either use a diffuser, add up to 5 drops to a bath or have an Aromatherapy Massage. I suggest using 10 drops to every 40ml carrier oil for a massage.

Always do a skin test for oils you’ve never used, in the unlikely event of an allergy. To do this, add a drop to the back of your wrist, via a cotton bud, apply a plaster and wait for 24 hours.

There are some oils that are fine to use during pregnancy, though lots of them aren’t. Please check before use and do not ingest or apply the oils neat…
