Essential Oils For Cancer Season!

Welcome to Cancer season.

In this post, we’ll explore the essential oils that have a healing and balancing effect on Cancerians: rosemary, grapefruit and chamomile.


Rosemary is an uplifting and fortifying choice for Cancerians, especially during those lunar lows.

Add a few drops onto a tissue and inhale deeply or add to a diffuser.

The Moon affects the waters of the oceans and the water within our bodies – lunar ruled, Cancerians can be particularly prone to water retention.

Rosemary essential oil is great for detoxing the lymphatic system.

  • Apply rosemary and grapefruit essential oil to your base oil (10 drops to every 40m of base oil).


The stomach is a sensitive area for a Cancerian: they have a tendency to hold on emotionally, which can manifest as weight gain or a delicate stomach.

A massage with sunny, citrus Grapefruit essential oil is a great way to enliven the senses, aid digestion and help with fluid retention.

  • Make a spray or add to a diffuser for a happy mood and cheery vibes.


Chamomile is a flower that resonates with the Moon, making it a perfect choice for Cancerians.

Emotionally, chamomile has a soothing effect on over sensitivity as well as being an effective insomnia cure.

Add a few drops of the oil onto your pillow for a good night’s sleep or make a body massage oil with 10 drops to every 40 ml of base oil; paying particular attention to the Cancerian parts of the body: the stomach and chest.

Instructions and Safety

There are many ways to absorb essential oils. You can either use a diffuser, add up to 5 drops to bath or have an Aromatherapy Massage. I suggest using 10 drops to every 40ml carrier oil for a massage.

Always do a skin test for oils you’ve never used, in the unlikely event of an allergy. To do this, add a drop to the back of your wrist, via a cotton bud, apply a plaster and wait for 24 hours.

There are some oils which are fine to use during pregnancy, though lots of them aren’t. Please check before use and do not ingest or apply the oils neat…
