May is the start of Moving Season, as most people in the western hemisphere move in the warmer summer months.

In fact, May 1st is known as ‘moving day’ because between the late 1700s and early 1900s, every person in New York City and other large towns would move on the same day!

It would seem millennials are moving more than any other generation, and in a recent survey by SpareFoot 67% of those questioned (aged 18 to 34) had moved in the past year or or were planning to in the coming year.

They also shared some interesting data around the zodiac signs on what astrology says about the way you move… Results are in!

Aries

Not surprising, Aries are the most likely to be stuck with a bad roommate with 60% preferring their  bad roommate than the hassle of moving. Fire sign Aries is a massive fan of arguments, so could secretly love having a good excuse to wage war!

Taurus

Family ties are strong to Taurus born! 38% of Taureans said moving out of parent or guardian’s house (for the first time) is the most significant move in a person’s life (compared to 27% net). Just 25% say moving in with a significant other is the most significant (compared to 36% across the board).

Gemini

Fair weather friends, Gemini are the most sensitive to sunshine and a good wind direction apparently. 18% have moved due to weather (compared to 11% of the other star signs).

Cancer

22% say the best part of moving is exploring and making friends in a new neighbourhood, compared to 14% of net. Most important move to Cancerians is living alone for the first time.

Leo

Drama Queens Leo need to pop the champers before, during and after crossing the threshold, as just 32% would give up alcohol for a week to have a stress-free move (compared to 45% of net).

Virgo

Virgos are the most mobile – just 36% of Virgos report staying in one spot and not moving in either the past 12 months or the next 12 months, compared to a net of 53% over all of the star signs.

Libra

Only 3% of Libras elected to give nothing up when moving.

Scorpio

Keep your eye on Scorpio – a whopping 52% have misled someone to avoid helping them move compared to 40% net across star signs! If you’re desperate for a hand you might need an incentive to entice Scorpio-born…

Sagittarius

Like Aries, Sagittarius was found most likely to say they have moved because their house was haunted (7% of each group compared to 4% net across all signs)

Capricorn

Capricorns are statistically in the middle of the pack for nearly every question asked.

Aquarius

A true friend indeed, Aquarius proved the most honest in the survey when it comes to helping their pals! 69% have never misled someone to avoid helping them move – the most honest of all the zodiac signs!

They also are the biggest fan of a clean slate, with 66% citing the best part of moving is a new, fresh space (compared to net 53% across all star signs).

Pisces

Pisces could be dreaming of an artists studio, with a higher than average incentive being improved outdoor or garage space – if the moving process was hassle free, that it.

19% would opt for this increased storage option, compared to 11% of net.

The Planners: Cancer, Leo, Sagittarius, Taurus, Gemini and Scorpios begin planning 1-6 months before a move.

Last Minute: Pisces, Aries, Aquarius, Virgos, and Libras don’t start planning their move until the month of.

Most likely to lie in order to get out of helping you move: Leos, Virgos, Cancers, Libras, Aries, Sagittarius, Geminis and Scorpios.
