Samantha Gillan launched Born Bespoke with the idea of personalising baby shoes when she wanted to find a really special first pair for her daughter…

“I wanted something that could be worn, then kept in my babies memory box as a special keepsake. Despite searching I couldn’t find what I was looking for. So I decided to use my design and shoe making skills to make something myself.”

Samantha studied for at Cordwainers Leather College in East London, following in the footsteps of the likes of Jimmy Choo, Patick Cox, Georgina Goodman and Linda Bennett. She made her first pair of baby shoes in 2011 and hasn’t looked back!

Creating something safe and gentle for babies delicate feet is important to Samantha, who sources top quality leathers and sheepskin.

All her shoes are individually handmade in Stafforshire, England using the softest leathers. Lots of care and attention goes in to each little shoe – personalised details are carefully embroidered, they’re then beautifully packaged, creating the ideal gift.
