This mythological, Renaissance scene is Botticelli’s oldest representation of Venus (you’ll know his “Birth Of Venus” painting, of course!), seen beneath Cupid in this renowned allegory of Spring, “La Primavera”.
To her right are the Three Graces – Aglaea (Splendor), Euphrosyne (Mirth), and Thalia (Good Cheer).
In Roman mythology they were known as the Gratiae, the “Graces”, goddesses of charm, beauty, nature, human creativity, and fertility, together known as the Charites.
To her right stands Flora and Chloris, while Mercury is (out of sight) further to the left.
