I tried MUN (just a little bit!) an organic skin care line launched by international makeup artist Munemi Imai.

A believer in the powerful benefits of pure, natural ingredients, Munemi created this wonderful facial oil after discovering the secrets of the prickly pear cactus [also known as the Barbary Fig] on a trip to Morocco.

Centuries ago, the fruit rolled upon the shores of Morocco’s coastline from the Canary Islands and ever since, the indigenous people have supplied it as raw ingredients – today for Munemi’s gorgeous for skin products. Known as the ‘Aknari’, this small but fragrant fruit is a luscious cactus with stunning flowers. Its scientific name is as opulent as its blossoms: Opuntia ficus-indica.

The seeds yield an exquisite oil that has been used for centuries to counteract the effects of sun and ageing. It’s also known to brighten dark circles and even out skin tone, reducing melasma and hyper pigmentation.

The Prickly Pear has become an essential element of the local economy, especially for cooperatives run by women.
